Bill to waive E-ZPass tolls for disabled veteran-owned businesses advances in New Jersey

TRENTON, N.J. — A bill that would waive E-ZPass tolls for disabled veteran-owned businesses has taken a key step forward in the New Jersey Legislature, clearing the Senate Transportation Committee.

The measure, S-2755, sponsored by Sen. Kristin M. Corrado (R-40), would require both the New Jersey Turnpike Authority and the South Jersey Transportation Authority to establish programs exempting qualified disabled veteran-owned businesses from paying electronic tolls on vehicles used for business operations.

“Disabled veterans have sacrificed immensely for our country, and many continue to serve their communities by building and operating small businesses here in New Jersey,” Corrado said. “Waiving E-ZPass tolls is a simple but meaningful way to help these entrepreneurs thrive while ensuring they receive the recognition and support they deserve.”

To qualify, a disabled veteran must own, lease or finance a vehicle used by a certified disabled veteran-owned business that operates in New Jersey, generates at least $2,500 in annual revenue, is registered in the state, and has an active New Jersey E-ZPass account.
