Tractor-trailer carrying oranges overturns in Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area

DELAWARE WATER GAP NATIONAL RECREATION AREA – A tractor-trailer carrying oranges overturned in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area on Wednesday morning.

According to the National Park Service, the incident occurred around 9:00 a.m. when the tractor-trailer, traveling northbound on US Route 209, overturned between mile markers 5 and 6, just north of Toms Creek.

There were no reported injuries, authorities said.

Route 209 was closed between Bushkill Falls Road and Brisco Mountain Road for several hours while crews cleaned up the wreckage and conducted an accident investigation and damage assessment.

The incident remains under investigation, and multiple charges are expected, officials added.

Tractor-trailers are prohibited on Route 209 through the park. For more information on commercial vehicle regulations in the park, click here.
