Black bear hit by vehicle along Route 46 in Warren County

WHITE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A vehicle hit a black bear on Route 46 in Warren County Thursday morning, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Charles Marchan.

The crash happened at around 8:09 a.m. on Route 46 westbound at milepost 6.5 in White Township, Marchan said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a vehicle was traveling westbound on Route 46 when a black bear entered the lane of travel and was struck by the vehicle, Marchan said.

There were no injuries among the occupants of the car and the bear wandered off, Marchan said.
