
Body of missing swimmer recovered from the Delaware River
DELAWARE WATER GAP NATIONAL RECREATION AREA – The body of 24-year-old Jeysson Ariel Osorio-Reyes of Jackson Township was recovered on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. from the waters of the Delaware River near Milford Beach within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, according to the National Park Service.
Osorio-Reyes was last seen swimming in the Delaware River at Milford Beach on Saturday afternoon at around 3:15 p.m.
Witnesses on shore saw Osorio-Reyes, swimming mid-channel in the river, about 75 yards from the PA shoreline, before he disappeared under the water surface.
National Park Service rangers and dive team members from Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and Upper Delaware National Scenic and Recreational River and volunteers from the Milford Fire Department, Milford Ambulance, Port Jervis and Bushkill Dive Teams, and Dingman Township, Sparrowbush, and Huguenot Dive Rescue Teams assisted in the search.
The combined search crews scoured the Delaware River, both above and below the surface, employing surface searches, teams of divers, and side scan sonar.
