Body recovered from Delaware River in search for missing Trenton man

WEST AMWELL TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — The Yardley-Makefield Fire Company recovered a body from the Delaware River at approximately 6:18 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, authorities said.

The body is believed to be that of a 24-year-old Trenton man who went missing around 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, while in the Delaware River near the Firemen’s Eddy section of the Delaware & Raritan Canal State Park in West Amwell Township, Hunterdon County. Final identification is pending confirmation by the Bucks County Coroner’s Office.

The incident remains under active investigation by the New Jersey State Park Police and the Lower Makefield Township Police Department, with assistance from the Bucks County Coroner’s Office and other agencies.

The New Jersey State Park Police expressed gratitude to the many local agencies that supported the search and investigation efforts. Those agencies include the Hunterdon County Office of Emergency Management, Lambertville–New Hope Rescue Squad, West Amwell Fire Department, Union Fire Department, West Amwell Police Department, Hopewell Police Department, New Jersey State Police Marine and Aviation Units, and the Yardley-Makefield Fire Company.
