Bridgeway Behavioral Health Services secures $250K grant to aid Supportive Housing Program
NEW JERSEY – Bridgeway Behavioral Health Services (Bridgeway), a community-based provider supporting individuals and families facing mental health challenges, has been awarded a $250,000 grant from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) and Department of Human Services (DHS) through the NJ FamilyCare Housing Supports Provider Readiness Program (HSPRP).
The grant will support Bridgeway’s Supportive Housing Program, which offers person-centered services to individuals with complex behavioral health needs to help them obtain stable housing and live independently. The HSPRP, a Medicaid initiative, is a joint effort by the DCA’s Office of Homelessness Prevention (OHP) and the NJ Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services (DMAHS) to establish housing supports for NJ FamilyCare members experiencing housing insecurity and homelessness.
“Stable housing is a critical component of treatment for individuals with mental health and co-occurring conditions,” said Nancy Schneeloch, Vice President of Supportive Housing, Homeless Outreach and Justice Involved Services at Bridgeway. “The grant from the DCA and DHS will ensure we can continue to help residents across New Jersey secure stable housing as they continue on their journeys to recovery.”
Bridgeway’s Supportive Housing Program serves about 500 individuals across Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Middlesex, Somerset, Sussex, Union, and Warren counties who are experiencing mental health conditions, substance abuse, and other co-occurring conditions. The program’s whole-person, wraparound approach addresses emotional, physical, social, financial, environmental, intellectual, spiritual, and occupational wellness through evidence-based practices, peer support, and access to essential community resources.
