Budd Lake man charged with resisting arrest after active warrant served

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A Budd Lake man was charged with resisting arrest after police attempted to serve an active no-bail warrant at his residence on May 18, authorities said.

According to Mount Olive police, officers responded to a home in the Budd Lake section of the township at 6:01 p.m. to serve a National Crime Information Center (N.C.I.C.) warrant issued by the Morristown Police Department on 30-year-old Thomas C. Bright.

Police said Bright was located and positively identified at his residence. Despite being informed of the warrant, he allegedly resisted arrest by refusing to comply with officers’ attempts to take him into custody.

After further discussion, officers were able to arrest Bright without additional incident, police said.

Bright was transported to police headquarters, where he was charged with resisting arrest. He was then turned over to the Morristown Police Department on the active warrant.
