CJVA volleyball teams honored by Hunterdon County commissioners for national championship qualification
FLEMINGTON, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — The Hunterdon County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, Aug. 5, recognized three Central Jersey Volleyball Academy (CJVA) teams — 12 Black, 13 Black, and 18 Black — for earning spots at the 2025 USA Volleyball Junior National Championships.
During the meeting, Commissioner Director John E. Lanza, joined by Commissioners Susan J. Soloway and Jeff Kuhl, welcomed the athletes and coaches for a celebratory photo in front of the historic Hunterdon County Courthouse.
“These young athletes have demonstrated incredible dedication, skill, and teamwork, and they’ve made Hunterdon County proud,” Lanza said. “Qualifying for Nationals is no small feat — it reflects months of hard work, discipline, and a deep commitment to excellence. We are happy to honor the CJVA 12 Black, 13 Black, and 18 Black teams, as well as the coaches and families who support them.”
Based in Flemington, CJVA is known for developing players’ athletic skills while instilling values of leadership, cooperation, and sportsmanship. The teams’ advancement to Nationals underscores the program’s strong foundation and the combined efforts of the athletes, coaches, and supportive families.
The Board also issued an official resolution commending the players and coaches, describing them as exemplary leaders and role models for youth athletics in the county.
