Commissioners honor executive director of Hunterdon Art Museum upon retirement

“Marjorie Frankel Nathanson Recognized for Nearly 30 Years of Leadership”

HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ – Commissioner Director John E. Lanza presented a proclamation to Marjorie Frankel Nathanson at the April 15 meeting, recognizing her nearly 30 years of leadership as Executive Director of the Hunterdon Art Museum in the Town of Clinton.

Originally adopted on April 1, the proclamation celebrates Nathanson’s dedication to championing the arts and fostering creativity within the community. Under her leadership, the Hunterdon Art Museum was transformed into a beacon of cultural enrichment, expanding its reach through innovative programming, exhibitions, and support for local and regional artists.

“Marjorie’s involvement in the arts and her commitment to uplifting creativity in Hunterdon County cannot be overstated,” said Director Lanza. “Her passion and dedication have inspired countless individuals, and her legacy will continue to shape the cultural landscape of our community for generations to come.”

The Board of Commissioners commended Nathanson’s contributions, highlighting her efforts to preserve the museum’s historical integrity while embracing contemporary art and education. As she concludes her tenure, the Board congratulated her on a well-earned retirement and wished her the best in the next chapter of her life.
