County College of Morris launches new certificate programs to meet workforce demand

RANDOLPH TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — County College of Morris (CCM) is expanding its academic offerings with four new for-college-credit Certificates of Achievement aimed at preparing students for careers in high-demand industries.

The new certificate programs are in Automation, Robotics & Control, Baking & Pastry Arts, Bookkeeping, and Entrepreneurship. Completion of a certificate allows students to quickly enter the job market while also applying earned credits toward an associate degree at CCM.

“We are committed to transforming lives and strengthening our communities by providing high-quality and affordable options leading to high-demand careers with family sustaining wages and helping adults launch into new careers,” said Dr. Anthony J. Iacono, president of CCM. “Our new certificate programs represent our continued investment in student success, recognizing the needs of workforce, and supporting our region’s economic vitality.”

The Automation, Robotics & Control certificate will be taught at CCM’s Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Center, which houses state-of-the-art equipment for training robotics technicians, automation specialists, and mechatronics engineers.

Students in Baking & Pastry Arts, Bookkeeping, and Entrepreneurship will learn at the college’s Center for Entrepreneurship & Culinary Science, opening in early 2026. The 11,000-square-foot facility will include a professional-grade baking kitchen, classrooms, and collaborative spaces to prepare students for careers such as pastry chef, artisan baker, accounting clerk, small business manager, or startup consultant.

For the past decade, CCM has worked with employers and industry leaders to align programs with workforce needs. A recent study by Lightcast found that in fiscal year 2022–23, the college generated $586.1 million in added regional income and supported nearly 6,000 jobs — or one in every 75 jobs in Morris County.

CCM currently serves more than 11,600 students and offers over 100 academic programs, including associate degrees, industry-recognized certificates, and professional development opportunities.
