County College of Morris to host inaugural Cybersecurity Night on Oct. 23, promoting awareness and best practices

RANDOLPH TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – The Department of Information Technologies at County College of Morris (CCM) is set to host its inaugural Cybersecurity Night on Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

This event, open to the community, aims to promote cybersecurity awareness and share best practices for staying safe in an increasingly digital world.

Cybersecurity Night will feature a series of informative sessions designed for students, professionals, and community members alike. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a panel discussion with industry professionals in cybersecurity and utilize a student-run helpdesk for assistance. Light refreshments will be provided throughout the evening.

To participate in this event, registration is required by Monday, Oct. 21. Interested individuals can register online at CCM’s event page.

For over two decades, CCM has been a leader in Information Security education, receiving national recognition in 2017 as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Two-Year Education (CAE2Y)—the first community college in New Jersey to achieve this designation. The college’s Center for Cybersecurity was established to further its mission of educating future cybersecurity professionals, raising awareness among students across various disciplines, and preparing the community to become better cyber citizens.

The event will take place in the Sherman H. Masten Learning Resource Center (LRC) on the CCM campus, located at 214 Center Grove Road in Randolph Township. Visitors are encouraged to park in Lot 7.
