County officials join seniors for annual holiday luncheon in Hunterdon County

KINGWOOD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Commissioner Susan J. Soloway and County Clerk Mary Melfi joined area seniors Dec. 17 for the annual Senior Center Holiday Luncheon at Razberry’s Banquet Hall, where about 140 residents gathered to celebrate the season.

The event, sponsored by the Hunterdon County Senior Center, featured a holiday meal and live entertainment by Nancy and Jaime DeJesus, whose performance of seasonal favorites encouraged dancing and conversation among attendees.

Soloway welcomed seniors to the luncheon and reflected on the importance of the annual gathering.

“I look forward to attending this event each year – I am happy to see so many seniors in attendance. This luncheon is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the season together by sharing in great music and fellowship. On behalf of the entire Board, I would like to wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season and Healthy New Year!” Soloway said.

The Senior Center provides programs and services for Hunterdon County residents age 60 and older, including activities designed to promote health, well-being and social engagement.

Registration for the luncheon was conducted through a lottery system and was offered at no cost to participants, with support provided in part by the New Jersey Area Plan Grant.

Soloway also thanked those who helped organize the event.

“I would like to thank all the Senior Center staff and volunteers who helped organize this event,” she said. “I love to see our senior community so engaged, and I know that is a result of the wonderful services offered by the Senior Center. I encourage all residents aged 60 and over to take part in the many great programs and activities that are available.”
