Crews respond to brush fire in Sparta Township wooded area

SPARTA TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — Emergency crews responded Sunday to a brush fire burning through a wooded area in Sparta Township, according to police.

The fire extended from Fairview Trail through wooded terrain toward Gulf View Terrace, with the New Jersey Forest Fire Service and multiple fire departments working to contain the blaze.

Police said no injuries had been reported and no homes were immediately threatened as of Sunday.

Residents in the surrounding area were advised they could experience low water pressure due to firefighting operations.

Authorities urged the public to avoid the area to allow crews to work safely and efficiently.

No additional updates were available as of Monday.
