Dingmans Falls area closed until 2026 for bridge, trail work at Delaware Water Gap

DELAWARE WATER GAP NATIONAL RECREATION AREA — Dingmans Falls Road, trail, visitor center and surrounding areas remain closed to all traffic — including pedestrians and cyclists — as a bridge replacement and trail repair project continues, park officials said.

The completion date for the project has been pushed back, with work now expected to wrap up in spring 2026. Officials said the timeline was extended due to unforeseen circumstances that affected the contractor’s construction schedule.

“The area is an active construction zone, and work will continue to ensure the bridge is completed safely and to the highest standards. We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation as the project is completed,” the National Park Service said in a statement.

While Dingmans Falls is closed, visitors are encouraged to explore nearby waterfall hikes at George W. Childs Park, Raymondskill Falls, Hackers Falls, or Tumbling Waters. A full list of trails is available at nps.gov/dewa/planyourvisit/trails.htm.
