Driver extricated after car crashes into trees on Route 31 in Hunterdon County
WEST AMWELL TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Emergency crews extricated a driver Wednesday night after a vehicle crashed into multiple trees along Route 31 in West Amwell Township, according to the West Amwell Fire Company.
The single-vehicle crash was reported at approximately 9:15 p.m. near the QuickChek on Route 31.
First responders arrived to find one person trapped inside a car that had become pinned against several trees. Emergency medical personnel began assessing the patient from the passenger side while crews worked to gain access to the driver’s side.
Firefighters cleared a path to the vehicle and used extrication tools to remove the driver’s side door, successfully freeing the victim.
No additional information on the victim’s condition was immediately available.
The cause of the crash was not immediately known and remains under investigation.
