Easton-Phillipsburg ‘free bridge’ scheduled for single lanes in each direction Oct. 16-17

Backups and travel delays are possible 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 16 and Tuesday, Oct. 17 at the Easton-Phillipsburg “free bridge,” according to the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission.

The bridge is scheduled to be restricted to single travel lanes in each direction, one of three lanes closed, to allow work crews to troubleshoot and test the bridge’s new programmable color-changing LED architectural lighting system, the commission said.

“Motorists are advised that travel issues could be more significant during late-afternoon and evening hours,” the commission said.
