Electrical fire extinguished at Morris County home

NETCONG BOROUGH, N.J. (Morris County) — The Netcong Fire Department was requested to respond just after 9 p.m. to Togno Street in Netcong Borough for a reported residential structure fire with entrapment, according to the department.

While en route, Chief 1 requested a rapid intervention crew from Budd Lake. Upon arrival, police confirmed the fire was electrical in nature and that all residents were out of the home.

Officials said the homeowner and a patrol officer used fire extinguishers to knock down the initial fire.

Firefighters then opened the walls in the room where the fire occurred and extinguished the remaining fire, the department said.

No additional information was immediately released.
