Fire crews respond to early morning car fire in Sussex County

BYRAM TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — Firefighters from the Byram Fire Department, along with mutual aid departments, responded to a reported structure fire early Tuesday morning in the Lee Hill section of town.

The call came in around 4:30 a.m. on May 20. Upon arrival, crews determined the fire involved a vehicle and did not pose a threat to any nearby structures. The incident was downgraded to a car fire by Engine 43-1.

Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control and completed overhaul operations. No injuries were reported.

All units cleared the scene shortly before 6 a.m.

The Byram Fire Department extended its thanks to all mutual aid companies that responded to assist in the early morning incident.
