
Tennessee man charged with sexually assaulting child in Morris County
DOVER, NJ (Morris County) – A Tennessee man is accused of sexually assaulting a girl in Dover, according to Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll.
Rony Oviedo-Buezo, 32, of Nashville was charged with two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree attempted aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child sexual conduct, and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child abuse/neglect.
It is alleged that Oviedo-Buezo performed multiple sexual acts with a girl, Carroll said.
“The incidents remain under investigation and no further information will be released at this time,” Carroll said.
Oviedo-Buezo was apprehended in Tennessee and subsequently extradited to New Jersey. Pursuant to the Criminal Justice Reform Act, he has been detained in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending future court proceedings, Carroll said.
Numerous law enforcement agencies have participated in this investigation, including members of the Dover Police Department, Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.
