Firefighters quickly extinguish dryer fire in Warren County

ALLAMUCHY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – Firefighters quickly extinguished a dryer fire Sunday afternoon in Allamuchy Township.

On March 3, at around 2:07 p.m., the Allamuchy Fire Department was requested to the condo complexes in the area of Old Farm Drive for a report of a dryer fire, according to a post on the Allamuchy Fire Dept. Facebook page.

The fire chief arrived on location and found a heavy smoke condition inside the residence. Due to the fast action and thinking of the chief, he secured a water can and made entry and extinguished a bulk of the fire, officials said.

Fire crews then arrived on location and were able to extinguish the remaining fire prior to it extending to the home, the post said.

Crews secured the gas line to the dryer and removed the unit from the home, also checking the residence for extension into the vents and walls, authorities said.

Crews preformed overhaul and ventilated the structure ensuring the residence was safe. All units were clear of the scene at around 3:30 p.m., the post said.
