Five injured in multi-vehicle crash on I-80 in Morris County

DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — Five people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash involving an overturned box truck Tuesday night on Interstate 80 in Denville Township, according to the New Jersey State Police.

Troopers responded to the crash at 9:39 p.m. on the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 near milepost 39.

According to State Police spokesman Trooper II Christopher Postorino, a preliminary investigation determined that an International box truck collided with a Mazda SUV. After the initial impact, the box truck continued forward and struck a Ford SUV before overturning.

The driver and two passengers in the Mazda sustained moderate injuries and were transported to an area hospital.

The driver and a passenger in the Ford sustained minor injuries and also were transported to an area hospital.

State police said there were no other reported injuries at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information was immediately available.
