‘Full STEAM Ahead’ at the Sussex County Library System

SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ – The Sussex County Library System (SCLS) has announced the launch of “Full STEAM Ahead,” a series of educational and engaging S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) events designed to spark curiosity and creativity in kids and teens.

These interactive, hands-on workshops will be held at each of SCLS’s six branches. The series is divided into two age groups: children and teens/tweens.

For children ages 5-10, workshops will focus on fun, exploratory projects:

  • Creating electric circuits using play dough
  • Building a dancing pipe cleaner figure

Tweens and teens ages 10-18 will learn the basics of electricity and circuits through:

  • Crafting holiday cards that light up
  • Assembling a mini LED flashlight keychain

All events are free and open to the public, and all materials will be provided. Space is limited, so registration is required. Families can register online through the library’s website or by visiting their local branch in person.

“We are thrilled to offer these programs at all of our branches,” said Deborah Fagnan, SCLS Youth Services Coordinator. “STEAM education is a wonderful way for kids to learn by doing, and it aligns perfectly with our mission to support lifelong learning in our community.”
