Fundraiser launched for family of man killed in fiery Hunterdon County crash

READINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — A GoFundMe fundraiser has been established to support the wife and three young children of a 31-year-old Whitehouse Station man who was killed in a fiery single-vehicle crash in Readington Township last week.

Jayce Anderson died Wednesday, Oct. 28, after his Ford Mustang left Lightfield Road, struck a tree and caught fire, according to the Readington Township Police Department. The crash occurred at approximately 6:34 p.m., prompting a response from township police, the Whitehouse Rescue Squad, Whitehouse Fire Department, Readington Fire Department and paramedics from Hunterdon Medical Center.

Upon arrival, officers found the Mustang heavily damaged and engulfed in flames, with Anderson, the vehicle’s sole occupant, unconscious and trapped inside. Responding officers immediately began efforts to free him while working to extinguish the fire. Once the flames were brought under control, emergency personnel extricated Anderson from the wreckage and began lifesaving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following his death, Cassidy Fazio organized a GoFundMe campaign to provide financial support to Anderson’s wife, Megan Anderson, and their three young children.

According to the fundraiser, Anderson grew up on his family’s apple orchard in Basking Ridge, where he developed a lifelong love of the outdoors and adventure. He graduated from Ridge High School, where he began dating Megan, who would later become his wife. The couple eventually settled in Whitehouse Station, where they raised their three children.

The fundraiser describes Anderson as a hardworking husband and father who embraced life’s opportunities and enjoyed sharing his passions with his children.

“Jayce was not only a father, husband, and provider, he was a man who took advantage of the freedoms, thrills, and adventures this life gives us the opportunity to experience,” Fazio wrote in the fundraiser description.

Fazio also reflected on Anderson’s adventurous spirit and his relationship with Megan, describing their bond as one that began in high school and continued as they built a family together.

“Not Jayce, almost effortlessly he knew what he wanted in this life and fearlessly lead it full of adventure for himself and his family,” the fundraiser states.

According to Fazio, the campaign was created after friends and loved ones reached out asking how they could help the family following Anderson’s death. Those wishing to support Megan Anderson and the couple’s three children can make a donation through the GoFundMe fundraiser organized by Cassidy Fazio.

The crash remains under investigation by the Readington Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the Readington Township Police Department at 908-534-4031.
