Golf cart overturns at Hunterdon County golf course; one person flown to trauma center

RARITAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — One person was flown to a trauma center and another was taken by ambulance to a local hospital after a golf cart overturned at Heron Glen Golf Course in Raritan Township.

The Flemington-Raritan First Aid and Rescue Squad was dispatched at 1:01 p.m. Monday to the golf course for a report of an overturned golf cart down an embankment with one person possibly trapped.

Rescue Squad personnel arrived and made their way to the area between the seventh and eighth holes, where they located the incident.

Two patients were treated at the scene.

One patient was transported by ambulance to Hunterdon Medical Center. A second patient was flown by New Jersey State Police NorthSTAR medevac helicopter to a trauma center for further treatment.

The squad was assisted by the Raritan Township Police Department, Raritan Township Fire Company, Hunterdon County Park Rangers and the Hunterdon Medical Center Mobile Intensive Care Unit.

Emergency crews remained on scene for about an hour before clearing the incident.
