Gottheimer holds telephone town hall on lowering costs for North Jersey families
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Josh Gottheimer recently hosted a telephone town hall with thousands of North Jersey residents to discuss efforts he said are aimed at lowering household costs, including utility bills, health care premiums, child care expenses, food prices and property taxes.
Gottheimer also fielded questions about addressing rising grocery costs, utility rate increases, extending Affordable Care Act tax credits to reduce health care costs, expanding access to affordable child care and lowering taxes, according to his office.
“This telephone town hall gave me the chance to connect with thousands of Fifth District residents. What’s crystal clear to me is that we need to get costs down for families and small businesses in North Jersey,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “That’s why I’m focused on cutting taxes and lowering costs to keep more money in your pockets. I will keep fighting to combat rising utility and grocery bills, protect our seniors and veterans, and ensure that hard-working Jersey families have access to affordable health care and childcare.”
His office said the discussion also touched on recent international events involving Iran, Greenland and Venezuela, and included resources for upcoming winter storms.
Participants included Rabbi Gabe Cohen of Temple Emanu-El of Closter, Assemblyman Chris Tully, Dr. Joseph Underwood of Hackensack University Medical Center and local public safety officials, according to the release.
