Hackettstown Oktoberfest wraps up Sunday with contests, music, and family activities

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — Hackettstown’s 9th annual Oktoberfest concludes Sunday, Sept. 28, with a full lineup of contests, music, and family-friendly activities to close out the three-day celebration.

The Hackettstown Business Improvement District (BID), along with Czig Meister Brewing Company, Grand Avenue Tavern and Man Skirt Brewing, has hosted the weekend-long festival, which is free to attend and offers traditional Oktoberfest food and beer as well as non-alcohol-related entertainment.

Sunday’s events include:

  • All day — Kids Corner with kid-friendly vendors, inflatables, games, demos, and more (Grand Avenue); bungee trampoline and obstacle course
  • 12 p.m.–6 p.m. — Colonial Musketeers Fife and Drum Corp pop-up performances
  • 12:30–3:30 p.m. — Peter and the Wolf Gang Roaming Band
  • 1 p.m. — Cornhole tournament (register in person at Czig Meister beginning at noon; first-come, first-served)
  • 1–6 p.m. — 2025 U.S. Fistball National Championship (American Legion, 450 Willow Grove St.)
  • 2–5 p.m. — Stilt Walker entertainment and photo opportunities
  • 2 p.m. — Live music by Rick Barth (Man Skirt Brewing); Men’s Steinhold Competition (Man Skirt)
  • 2:30 p.m. — Women’s Steinhold Competition (Man Skirt)
  • 2–5 p.m. — Uncle Stump (Czig Meister Lower Lot)
  • 2–6 p.m. — Live music by The Powertones (Grand Ave Tavern)
  • 2:30–4:30 p.m. — Hackettstown Community Oompah Roaming Band
  • 3–4 p.m. — Stein Hold USSA Competition (Czig Meister); face painting and balloon twisting (Grand Ave Porch)
  • 4:30 p.m. — Wiener Dog (and all other breeds) Best Dressed Competition, with prizes from Hackettstown Pets and APS Spa for Pets (Grand Ave Porch and Patio)

The festival, which began Friday, has become a fall tradition in Hackettstown, drawing families, visitors, and local residents with its mix of German-inspired traditions and community-focused entertainment.
