Two Warren County residents arrested after drugs, brass knuckle knife found in car

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) — Two Warren County residents were arrested after police found a brass knuckle knife and drugs in their vehicle following a traffic stop in Mount Olive Township on Thursday morning, according to police.

On May 15, at approximately 10:56 a.m., an officer on routine patrol observed a black Nissan traveling west on Route 46 with a damaged windshield. The vehicle also failed to signal while changing lanes. A motor vehicle stop was conducted in the Village Green Shopping Center, police said.

The driver was identified as Robert Brown, 64, of Port Murray. The other occupants were identified as Craig Norwich, 60, of Broadway, and a 58-year-old woman from Washington, police said.

While speaking with the occupants, the officer allegedly observed behavior consistent with criminal activity. All three were asked to exit the vehicle for further investigation, police said.

A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery and seizure of a large quantity of narcotics, including methamphetamine, cocaine, GHB, and multiple prescription medications. Officers also recovered drug paraphernalia and a brass knuckle knife, police said.

Norwich was charged with possession of CDS Schedule I-V, possession of CDS with intent to distribute, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court appearance.

Brown was charged with possession of CDS methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of CDS in a motor vehicle, improper safety glass, and failure to signal. He was released pending a court appearance.
