Heath Village earns ‘High Performing’ rating from U.S. News for long-term care, rehab services

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — Heath Village Retirement Community has once again been recognized as one of the nation’s top skilled nursing facilities, earning a “High Performing” rating for both long-term care and short-term rehabilitation from U.S. News & World Report.

The “High Performing” designation is the highest possible rating awarded by U.S. News, placing Heath Village among an elite group of nursing homes nationwide. Only about 19% of skilled nursing facilities in the United States achieved the designation for 2026.

Since 2009, the U.S. News Best Nursing Homes ratings have been based on a detailed analysis of quality measures, including the appropriate use of key services and consistent performance across multiple indicators. The publication reviews publicly available data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency responsible for setting and enforcing nursing home standards, along with additional proprietary assessments.

To be named one of the 2026 Best Nursing Homes, a facility must receive a “High Performing” rating in either short-term rehabilitation, long-term care or both. Heath Village earned the distinction in both categories.
