Heath Village nursing and rehabilitation center marks five-year milestone

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — Heath Village’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, the Meadows marked its fifth anniversary last month, reflecting on its opening during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and its growth into a highly rated care facility.

The Meadows opened five years ago on a cold, snowy day amid the early stages of the pandemic, providing a new, state-of-the-art option for skilled nursing and rehabilitation services in the region. Today, the facility holds a five-star rating from Medicare and is ranked “High Performing” by U.S. News & World Report, the highest rating awarded by the publication.

“At a time when most senior living organizations are closing or stepping away from providing the skilled nursing services so desperately needed, Heath Village showed remarkable leadership, foresight and commitment to the growing senior population by building the Meadows,” said Mary Ellen Bove, Heath Village CEO and executive director. “There can be no doubt that the Meadows has significantly improved the quality and access to health care not only for our residents, but for all older adults living throughout the region.”

Over the past five years, the Meadows has provided short- and long-term care services to more than 1,600 patients, according to Heath Village. Bove credited the facility’s staff for maintaining high standards of care throughout its operation.

“On behalf of the Board of Trustees and administration, I would like to express our sincere thanks to the staff for their hard work and the compassionate care they offer to residents, patients, and their families day in and day out,” Bove said.

Additional information about the Meadows and its services is available by contacting Heath Village Administrator Vivian Blandura at 908-684-5226.
