Route 15 northbound ramp to Lake Shawnee to be closed Friday night for bridge deck repairs in Morris County

Route 15 northbound right lane to be closed before the ramp

JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – The Route 15 northbound ramp to Lake Shawnee (Hurdtown Trail) is scheduled to be closed and detoured Friday night in Jefferson Township.

In addition, the right lane on Route 15 northbound will be closed before the ramp to Lake Shawnee, from mile post 6.4 to mile post 6.7.

Beginning at 10:00 p.m., Friday, December 6 until 5:00 a.m., Saturday, December 7, the Route 15 northbound ramp to Lake Shawnee (Hurdtown Trail) is scheduled to be closed and detoured for bridge deck repairs on the ramp. In addition, the right lane on Route 15 northbound will be closed before the ramp. At least one lane will be maintained overnight.

Route 15 northbound to Lake Shawnee (Hurdtown Trail) Detour:

  • Motorists on Route 15 northbound wishing to take the ramp to Lake Shawnee will be directed to continue on Route 15 northbound
  • Take the next exit ramp to Weldon Road/Oak Ridge/Milton
  • Continue on Weldon Road
  • Take the first right onto Mallard Road
  • Turn right onto West Shawnee Trail, back to Hurdtown Trail

The project is part of a $15 million state-funded contract to perform preventative maintenance and increase the service life of bridge structures in various locations across Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Union and Warren counties.

The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website for real-time travel information.
