Help SEA LIFE New Jersey name the cutest pair of river turtles

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJSEA LIFE New Jersey needs your help choosing the names of their Yellow-Spotted River Turtle duo!

The female River Turtles can be spotted in SEA LIFE’s Freshwater Turtle exhibit at their Amazon Rainforest, sharing a home with Midas Cichlids, Silver Arowanas and Kissing Prochilodus.

The aquarium received name inspiration from their Instagram followers. On March 27, followers are encouraged to vote for their favorite name pair via SEA LIFE New Jersey’s Instagram story poll @sealifenj.

Followers can help them pick from – Mishell and Shellby, Thelma and Louise, Pat and Phillis.

These female River turtles can be up to twice the size of male River turtles. The turtles are omnivores, eating a diet of fruits, vegetables, fish, and small invertebrates.

Guests often see the pair swimming around, as they are most active in the mid-morning to afternoon. Resting turtles can stay underwater for 4-7 hours without coming up for air.
