Hope Township unveils upgrades to community center during open house
HOPE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – Hope Township held an open house on Oct. 12 to showcase recent improvements and the results of a grant-funded project at the Hope Township Community Center.
The upgrades included renovations to the basement, which hosts the center’s weekly “Fun Fridays,” as well as the replacement of windows upstairs and the installation of a new sound system. Commissioner Director James R. Kern III attended the event, where Hope Township Mayor Timothy McDonough expressed gratitude to the Board of County Commissioners for their ongoing support.
The community center received a grant from Warren County’s Municipal and Charitable Conservancy Trust Fund specifically for the window replacement project.
“Today we celebrate not just the completion of these improvements, but also the hard work and dedication of the individuals who made this possible,” Kern stated. He noted that the enhancements would improve the center’s capacity to foster community gatherings and emphasized that the new windows bring both brightness and historic charm to the space.
“I commend Mayor McDonough, Committeeman Terry Urfer, and everyone involved in these projects. I’m proud that our Board of County Commissioners can continue to support initiatives like this that strengthen our communities. Together, we are not only preserving our history but also creating a welcoming space for residents to gather and engage,” Kern said.
Looking ahead, more improvements are planned for the community center, including repairs to the exterior steps, ceiling work, and bathroom upgrades.
