Hunterdon County celebrates Polytech Academy Class of 2025 at awards graduation
RARITAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) – Hunterdon County Board of County Commissioners Director John E. Lanza and Deputy Director Shaun C. Van Doren attended the 2025 Hunterdon County Vocational School District (HCVSD) Polytech Academy Awards Graduation Ceremony on Tuesday, May 27, honoring the accomplishments of this year’s graduates.
“The students we recognize today represent the very best of hard work, perseverance, and innovation,” Lanza said. “Their commitment to excellence in their studies has paved the way for their bright futures, and we are honored to celebrate their accomplishments.”
The ceremony celebrated students who completed one of HCVSD’s rigorous four-year Academy programs: the Biomedical Sciences Academy, the Computer Science and Applied Engineering Academy, and the Environmental Sustainability and Engineering Academy.
This year’s 72 graduates earned a combined total of 502 college credits. Approximately 99% of graduates will continue their education at either a four-year or two-year institution, Military Academy, or technical school — a reflection of the district’s high academic standards and career readiness focus.
“These students have embraced unique opportunities to grow, learn, and prepare for the next steps in their careers,” said Deputy Director Van Doren. “The education and experiences gained here at Polytech will serve as a strong foundation for each of their futures.”
Lanza closed the ceremony by emphasizing the importance of the support behind each graduate’s success.
“This evening is a testament to the dedication of these students, their teachers, and their families,” he said. “Behind every accomplished student is a teacher or mentor who inspires them to aim higher and push beyond their limits. We recognize and appreciate the commitment of the educators who make these programs so impactful.”
“Congratulations to the Class of 2025 — your future is bright, and I have no doubt that each of you will accomplish great things.”
