FLEMINGTON, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Hunterdon County Commissioner Director John Lanza, Commissioners Jeff Kuhl and Susan Soloway, along with Assemblywoman Mitchelle Drulis, joined members of the Flemington Elks Lodge on January 8 for the presentation of the Elks’ Community Investments Program (CIP) grants to several local nonprofits.
The event celebrated the Elks’ longstanding commitment to community service and their support for organizations making a meaningful impact in Hunterdon County.
Commissioner Director Lanza expressed his gratitude, stating, “It is an honor to recognize the Flemington Elks and their Community Investment Program for the vital role it plays in supporting local nonprofits that provide essential services to residents. The Flemington Elks continue to be an invaluable community partner, and this grant program is just another example of their outstanding contributions.”
A total of $10,000 in grant funds was awarded to this year’s CIP grant recipients, which included CASA SHaW, Flemington Food Pantry, Harvest Family Success (Prevention Resources), Flemington-Raritan School District, Hunterdon County’s Cross River YMCA, and Freedom Grant.
The event was attended by community leaders and members of the Flemington Elks. Exalted Ruler Vern Ainslie highlighted the Elks’ mission to serve the community and thanked all attendees for their continued support.
Director Lanza emphasized the importance of local nonprofit organizations in Hunterdon County, adding, “Last year, then Commissioner Director Jeff Kuhl introduced the ‘New Era of Partnership,’ which aimed to expand and build upon relationships with nonprofit organizations, municipal officials, and others. The goal is to leverage funds, encourage collaboration, and form strategic partnerships for the betterment of Hunterdon County.”
As part of this initiative, the Hunterdon County Commissioner Board awarded $1 million in grants to local nonprofits that were on the front lines of the COVID-19 public health emergency.
As the new Commissioner Director for 2025, Lanza committed to continuing the “New Era of Partnership” launched by Commissioner Kuhl.
In closing, Director Lanza praised the members of the Flemington Elks Club for their ongoing dedication to community service, stating, “I am confident that these important CIP grant funds will be used to support essential work on behalf of some of our most vulnerable residents.”
