Hunterdon County commissioners honor Polytech students for leadership and career excellence

FLEMINGTON, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — The Hunterdon County Board of Commissioners recognized standout students from Hunterdon County Polytech Career and Technical High School during its May 6 meeting, commending their achievements at recent state-level competitions.

Proclamations were presented to students who excelled at the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) State Leadership Conference and the Future Farmers of America (FFA) Winter Career Development Events and Horticulture Exposition.

“On behalf of the entire Board, I want to congratulate all the award recipients,” said Commissioner Director John E. Lanza. “Through hard work and commitment, these students have represented their school and community with distinction, earning top rankings in various competitive events. The dedication and perseverance shown by these young leaders exemplify the very best of Hunterdon County Polytech.”

Hunterdon County Polytech offers students hands-on career and technical training in a range of fields, preparing them for college or direct entry into the workforce. Many programs offer articulation agreements with colleges and universities, allowing students to earn credits while still in high school.

“Polytech is all about giving students real-world career training that sets them up for success,” said Commissioner Zachary T. Rich, liaison to the Hunterdon County Vocational School Board. “With strong industry partnerships, our grads leave ready to jump into their fields with confidence.”

The Board applauded the students’ accomplishments and encouraged them to continue pursuing excellence as they advance their education and careers.

Jay Edwards

Born and raised in Northwest NJ, Jay has a degree in Communications and has had a life-long interest in local radio and various styles of music. Jay has held numerous jobs over the years such as stunt car driver, bartender, voice-over artist, traffic reporter (award winning), NY Yankee maintenance crewmember and peanut farm worker. His hobbies include mountain climbing, snowmobiling, cooking, performing stand-up comedy and he is an avid squirrel watcher. Jay has been a guest on America’s Morning Headquarters,program on The Weather Channel, and was interviewed by Sam Champion.
