Hunterdon County completes major fuel infrastructure upgrades at Everittstown Garage
ALEXANDRIA TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Hunterdon County has completed a major infrastructure improvement project at the Everittstown Garage, modernizing the facility’s fuel storage and dispensing systems to support county and municipal operations.
Hunterdon County Commissioner Jeff Kuhl recently toured the completed project, which included the replacement and modernization of aging underground fuel storage infrastructure used by the county’s Department of Public Works.
The upgrades included the installation of new fuel tanks, updated fuel dispensing systems, enhanced monitoring technology and site improvements designed to support the long-term operational needs of the county’s vehicle and equipment fleet.
The Everittstown Garage serves as a key operational hub for road maintenance, snow removal, emergency response and other public works services throughout Hunterdon County. The facility also provides shared services support for several municipalities, offering fueling and operational resources that help improve efficiency and coordination among local governments.
Commissioner Kuhl met with Public Works staff during his visit and discussed the importance of maintaining reliable infrastructure that supports essential county services.
“This facility plays an important role not only for Hunterdon County, but for our local municipal partners who rely on these shared services as part of their daily operations,” said Commissioner Kuhl. “Completing these upgrades helps ensure dependable service, modern infrastructure, and operational reliability for years to come.”
County officials said the project replaces older infrastructure with modern systems designed to improve efficiency, reliability, environmental safety and overall operational performance.
The upgraded facility will help ensure uninterrupted fueling operations for county vehicles and equipment while providing enhanced monitoring capabilities and updated safety protections.
Officials said the project represents another investment in infrastructure that supports essential public services, strengthens shared-service partnerships with municipalities and helps ensure Public Works operations continue to meet the needs of residents throughout the year.
