Hunterdon County contractor accused of taking $169K and didn’t do the work, prosecutor says
MILFORD BOROUGH, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A Hunterdon County contractor is accused of taking $169,650 from a Milford Borough resident without completing the work, according to Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée M. Robeson.
In January 2023, a 57-year-old Milford Borough resident made a land agreement with Jason T. Narbonne, a/k/a Jason Falzone, 46, of Milford Borough and owner of NSS Site Service Limited. As part of the agreement, Narbonne was to clear the property of trees and prepare the property for the installation of a modular home.
At the end of October 2023, the victim asked Narbonne to move forward with the project, and Narbonne requested funds for septic and basement materials which the victim paid. The victim later discovered that the property was never inspected for septic, no work had ever been completed, and no permits were obtained. The victim reported a total loss of $169,650, Robeson said.
In October 2024, the victim reported to the Holland Township Police Department and the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office that they were defrauded of the funds. On December 10, 2024, Narbonne was charged with second-degree theft by deception, Robeson said.
Second-degree charges may result in criminal penalties including, but not limited to, a term of imprisonment between five and ten years and a fine not to exceed $150,000, Robeson said.
