Hunterdon County Deputy Director Shaun Van Doren attends open house event at Mane Stream

OLDWICK, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Hunterdon County Deputy Director Shaun C. Van Doren attended the Mane Stream Open House event on Saturday to show his support for the organization’s life-changing equine-assisted programs and therapy services.

The event, held at Mane Stream’s facility in Oldwick, provided an opportunity for the community to learn about the transformative benefits of equine-assisted activities.

Deputy Director Van Doren shared, “Mane Stream is an invaluable resource for our community, offering innovative programs that make a real difference in people’s lives. I enjoyed my tour at Mane Stream and witnessed firsthand the dedication of the staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to provide these essential services.”

Mane Stream is a non-profit organization that offers a variety of programs, including adaptive riding, occupational therapy, and counseling services, designed to improve the physical and emotional well-being of individuals of all ages. The Open House showcased these programs, including the ‘Horses for Healing’ initiative, which provides free sessions for individuals living with cancer or Parkinson’s Disease.

The event featured facility tours, opportunities to meet the horses, and information about Mane Stream’s programs. Visitors were able to experience the welcoming atmosphere and learn about the physical and emotional benefits of equine-assisted therapy.

Commissioner Van Doren commended Mane Stream for its commitment to serving the community and encouraged residents to explore the organization’s programs.

“The work being done at Mane Stream is truly inspiring, and I encourage anyone who may benefit from their services to reach out and learn more,” Van Doren said.
