Hunterdon County honored at goHunterdon 30th Anniversary Meeting & Awards Breakfast
WHITEHOUSE STATION, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Hunterdon County Commissioner Shaun C. Van Doren last week attended goHunterdon’s 30th Anniversary celebration and Annual Meeting & Awards Breakfast, at the Stanton Ridge Golf and Country Club, in Whitehouse Station.
Commemorating three decades of dedicated service to the community, this event brought together community leaders, sponsors, and residents to celebrate goHunterdon’s significant contributions to sustainable transportation and community engagement.
Commissioner Van Doren, who also serves as the liaison to the Department of Public Works (DPW) said, “On behalf of myself and the entire Board, I would like to congratulate all the award recipients in attendance today. goHunterdon is to be commended for 30 years of unwavering commitment to promoting safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly transportation options in Hunterdon County. Their efforts over the many years have made a lasting impact, and today is about celebrating the achievements of the past year and setting the stage for future endeavors.”
Special recognition was given to the Hunterdon County Division of Engineering for their outstanding work on the Green Sergeant’s Covered Bridge rehabilitation project. This historic bridge, a cherished landmark in Delaware Township, recently underwent significant renovations to preserve its structural integrity and historical value.
“The dedication and expertise of the county engineers and DPW staff were instrumental in the successful completion of this historic bridge project, earning them a well-deserved award for their efforts,” Van Doren said.
goHunterdon, originally known as the Hunterdon County Transportation Association, was established in 1990. In its early years, goHunterdon focused on providing transportation services and solutions to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality. Today, as an organization it has expanded its mission to include a broader range of community initiatives, including Safe Routes to School, Bike Hunterdon, and various community mobility projects.
