Hunterdon County offers free concert series at Deer Path Park

READINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – The 48th Annual Hunterdon County Parks and Recreation summer concert series, Music Under the Stars is in full swing, at Deer Path Park, in Readington Township.

The free, family-friendly concerts take place on Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m.

The concert series kicked off with a performance by the Hunterdon Symphony Orchestra on June 27, drawing an impressive crowd of over 800 attendees, who enjoyed an evening of beautiful music and perfect weather. On July 11, “Captain Jack”, a Billy Joel cover band, rocked the park with an estimated 4,000 fans reveling in the warm summer night.

“These concerts are a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy great music in a beautiful outdoor setting. It is great to see such a strong turnout and I encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the remaining shows,” Commissioner Director Jeff Kuhl said.

Concerts are free and open to all ages. Attendees are encouraged to pack a picnic dinner, bring lawn chairs or blankets, and leashed pets are welcome. No alcohol beverages allowed.

The remaining Summer Concert Series schedule is listed below:

  • July 18: The Best of the Eagles
  • July 25: Jake’s Rockin’ Country Band
  • August 1: The Hunterdon Choral Alliance
  • August 8: The Nerds

New to the summer concert series this year, is a youth and family concert on Saturday, July 27 at 10:00 a.m., entitled “Beauty and the Beats”, featuring music from Disney classic hits.

Deer Path Park is a premier multiuse park known for its scenic beauty and community events. The Music Under the Stars Summer Concert Series is one of the many programs offered by Hunterdon County Division of Parks and Recreation to enrich the lives of residents and visitors to Hunterdon County.
