Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office swears in new detective

FLEMINGTON, NJ (Hunterdon County) – The Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office has hired a new detective who was sworn into her position on Tuesday, May 30.

Detective Wanda Tejada-Coletta was sworn in by Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée M. Robeson before family, HCPO First Assistant Prosecutor Joseph Paravecchia, Chief of Detectives Timothy Drew, and the staff of the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office.

Detective Tejada-Coletta previously served as a Detective with the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office since June 2018. Detective Tejada-Coletta has also served as a police officer with the NJIT Police Department and the Middlesex College Police Department, and as a Class II Special Police Officer with Union City Police Department.

Prior to beginning her career in law enforcement, Detective Tejada-Coletta was a professional EMT. Detective Tejada-Coletta earned her Associate of Arts degree in Sociology from Passaic County Community College.

Detective Tejada-Coletta is assigned to the Special Victims Unit.

Born and raised in Northwest NJ, Jay has a degree in Communications and has had a life-long interest in local radio and various styles of music. Jay has held numerous jobs over the years such as stunt car driver, bartender, voice-over artist, traffic reporter (award winning), NY Yankee maintenance crewmember and peanut farm worker. His hobbies include mountain climbing, snowmobiling, cooking, performing stand-up comedy and he is an avid squirrel watcher. Jay has been a guest on America’s Morning Headquarters,program on The Weather Channel, and was interviewed by Sam Champion.
