Hunterdon County Vocational School to launch advanced manufacturing, aeronautical sciences program

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Hunterdon County officials and educators are preparing to launch a new Advanced Manufacturing & Aeronautical Sciences program aimed at training students for high-demand careers in modern industry.

Deputy Director Jeff Kuhl visited the Hunterdon County Vocational School District’s North Campus on March 26 for an advanced manufacturing event that brought together educators, industry leaders and regional employers to support the program’s development.

The event focused on building partnerships between the school and manufacturing companies, as well as exploring opportunities for workforce development and investment in advanced equipment.

The new program will be housed in a 36,000-square-foot facility at the North Campus, the result of more than seven years of planning. The $30 million project was funded through a partnership between Hunterdon County, which contributed 25%, and the state of New Jersey, which provided the remaining 75%.

“This program is an investment in the future of our workforce and our local economy,” said Deputy Director Kuhl. “By giving students hands-on experience and real-world skills, we are creating pathways to strong careers while helping regional employers meet their workforce needs.”

Students enrolled in the program will receive training in areas such as blueprint reading, solid modeling and team-based problem solving, with opportunities to earn college credit.

Officials said the school also secured a grant from the New Jersey Department of Labor to support a Youth Transitions program, which will provide career-readiness training including resume building, networking and interview preparation.

School leaders said the initiative is designed to strengthen connections between education and industry while preparing students for careers in manufacturing and aeronautical sciences.
