Hunterdon County’s Mr. Fix-It Program to host Fall Appliance Day Nov. 5
HUNTERDON COUNTY, N.J. — The Hunterdon County Mr. Fix-It Program will hold its Fall Appliance Day on Wednesday, November 5, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Hunterdon County Senior Center, Commissioner Shaun C. Van Doren announced at a recent County Commissioner Board meeting.
The event invites county residents aged 60 and older to bring small household appliances for repair by the program’s skilled volunteers. The service is free of charge, though a small fee may apply for replacement parts. The event is drop-in only, with no pre-registration required, and refreshments will be provided while attendees wait.
Commissioner Van Doren expressed gratitude to the Senior Center staff and volunteers who make the program possible.
“We are fortunate to have such talented volunteers who generously give their time and skills to assist our seniors,” said Commissioner Van Doren. “The Mr. Fix-It Program has helped hundreds of county residents by providing valuable repair services that help them stay safe and comfortable in their homes.”
The Mr. Fix-It Program is a volunteer-based initiative designed to help Hunterdon County seniors remain independent in their homes. Volunteers perform minor home maintenance and repair services for residents aged 60 and older, focusing on tasks that could impact health or safety if left unattended.
