Hunterdon Health Foundation accepting applications for health care scholarships
RARITAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) – The Hunterdon Health Foundation is accepting applications for multiple scholarship programs aimed at supporting individuals pursuing careers in health care.
Applications are now open for scholarships through the Jean Alvater Baker Educational Fund; the Albert Kahn and Mary Kahn, R.N. Educational Fund; the ERS Charitable Fund; the Millie E. Apgar Educational Scholarship Fund for Health Professionals; the Gladys Benfield Watkinson Scholarship for Nursing Education; the Rose Zander Angell Scholarship for Nursing Education; the Virginia Butkosky Memorial Scholarship for Nursing Education; and the Patricia M. Psenisky Nursing Scholarship Fund.
All of the funds provide educational opportunities for students pursuing health care careers, with several placing an emphasis on nursing. The Kahn, Apgar, ERS Charitable, Gladys Benfield Watkinson, Rose Zander Angell and Virginia Butkosky funds prioritize nursing education, while the Patricia M. Psenisky Nursing Scholarship Fund is designated for students, registered nurses or licensed practical nurses seeking a bachelor’s or graduate degree in nursing.
Applicants must be Hunterdon County residents or employees or volunteers — including parents or guardians — of Hunterdon Health or its related organizations.
A common application is used for the Baker, Kahn, ERS Charitable, Apgar, Gladys Benfield Watkinson, Rose Zander Angell and Virginia Butkosky scholarship funds. A separate application is required for the Patricia M. Psenisky Nursing Scholarship Fund.
Scholarship applications and required documents are available for download on the Hunterdon Health Foundation’s website. Completed applications must be mailed to the foundation by March 2, 2026. Scholarship recipients will be notified in early May 2026.
