Hunterdon Medical Center welcomes first baby of 2026

RARITAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Hunterdon Medical Center welcomed its first baby of the new year when a boy was born late Thursday night, hospital officials said.

Ujma Shaikh and Atik Nizami of Flemington are the parents of Abdullah Nizami, who was born at 9:47 p.m. Jan. 1, 2026, at the medical center. He is the couple’s first child.

Abdullah weighed 5 pounds, 10 ounces, and measured 19.5 inches long at birth, officials said.
