HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — James on Main, a longtime downtown Hackettstown restaurant, announced Wednesday that it will permanently close later this month.

In a message posted on the restaurant’s Facebook page, the owners said the restaurant at 105 Main St. will serve its final dinner on July 11.

“To our most loyal and gracious guests, it is with the utmost of thoughtfulness, reflection and some sadness that we inform you that James on Main will host its final dinner service on July 11th, 2026,” the restaurant said in its announcement.

James on Main thanked its customers for allowing the restaurant to be part of countless celebrations and milestones over the years.

“We have been beyond fortunate to have had the privilege of hosting your innumerable celebrations and milestones. To our local artisans and farmers that helped deliver the dream of JOM, please accept our eternal gratitude, we could not have done this without you.”

The restaurant also expressed appreciation to the community for its support throughout the past decade.

“Thank you for all of your support and love throughout the past decade, as we turn the page on a new chapter. It has been our absolute pleasure to share this wild ride with you all.”

The announcement did not provide a reason for the closure or indicate what will become of the Main Street property.

James on Main has been a fixture in downtown Hackettstown, offering wood-fired cuisine and locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant encouraged patrons to visit before its final dinner service on July 11.
