JCP&L announces emergency power interruption in Washington Township, Morris County for protective equipment installation

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) has announced an emergency power interruption for some Washington Township residents scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 19, according to police.

The interruption, which will impact approximately 489 customers, is necessary for the installation of protective equipment in the area, police said.

The power outage is scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., and then from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., police said.

Residents in the vicinities of Flocktown Road, Pheasant Drive, Quail Run, Falcon Lane, Partridge Lane, Rock Road, Mallard Lane, Winay Terrace, Shadetree Place, Cherry Street, Beechnut Drive, Nestlingwood Drive, Rosewood Trail, Catherine Court, Briarwood Road, Blackberry Place, Hunter Drive, Buttonwood Drive, Sycamore Lane, Basswood Court, Thornapple Court, Aspen Place, Walnut Drive, Sparrow Lane, Hickory Lane, Eagle Nest Lane, Ann Road, Laurel Drive, Parkview Road, Harmony Court, High Ridge Road, and Lookout Place will be affected by the outage, police said.

JCP&L will directly notify affected customers via a reverse call system in advance of the outage. In case of any unforeseen circumstances, such as an emergency or inclement weather, the power interruption may be rescheduled for Friday, Dec. 20, police said.
