Lane restrictions planned Wednesday at Milford-Montague Toll Bridge

MONTAGUE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — Motorists traveling across the Milford-Montague (Route 206) Toll Bridge on Wednesday should expect delays as the span is reduced to a single lane for scheduled maintenance work.

The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission announced that alternating traffic controlled by flaggers will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 3.

The temporary lane closure is needed to allow commission maintenance crews to clean the bridge’s road-deck joints, officials said.

Drivers may encounter brief traffic stoppages while the work is underway. Motorists are urged to reduce speeds, use caution when approaching the work zone and follow directions from flaggers.

Officials said the scheduled travel restriction is subject to change because of weather conditions, emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances.
