Man accused of taking videos up women’s skirts, dresses at Morris County store

HANOVER TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Passaic County man is accused of recording under women’s skirts and dresses at a Hanover Township business, police said Thursday.

Christopher Smith, 45, of Ringwood Borough was arrested on Sept. 7 for invasion of privacy/recording the intimate parts of a person without consent, police said.

Smith was observed in a local business using his cell phone to capture footage underneath the skirts and dresses of female customers, police said.

According to authorities, Smith would place his cell phone in a handbasket facing upward and hold the basket low to the ground while walking behind his victims. The store’s loss prevention team played a crucial role in identifying the victims, who ranged in age from 13 to 57.

Smith admitted to the offenses and was subsequently charged with invasion of privacy. He was released pending a court appearance, police said.
