Tractor-trailer carrying wastewater overturns on I-80 in Warren County, driver airlifted to hospital

KNOWLTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A truck driver was airlifted to the hospital after his tractor-trailer overturned on Interstate 80 in Warren County early Tuesday morning, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Trooper Troy McNair.

The crash happened at 12:44 a.m. on Interstate 80 eastbound at milepost 4.8 in Knowlton Township, McNair said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Kenworth tractor-trailer loaded with wastewater was traveling eastbound on I-80 when the driver lost directional control and then overturned, McNair said.

The driver suffered moderate injuries and was airlifted to an area hospital, McNair said.

The accident remains under investigation and no additional information was available, McNair said.
